Aftermarket vs O.E wheels?

All of the wheels for sale on alloyupgrades.com are unbranded aftermarket products.
Due to being unbranded, there is no branding, marketing or associated costs to pay towards. This means lower prices for the end user (you).
We could pop a logo on our boxes and pay a couple of influencers to say nice things about us, but we'd rather stick to our core reason for starting the business - providing affordable, attractive alloy wheels for like-minded car owners. We would like to open up our world to new blood and to show the options that the aftermarket scene has (for decades) had to offer.

All of our wheels offered are brand new and certified for road use.
They will often carry certification from governing bodies such as a JWL or VIA which is on the actual wheel. These certifications are also found on O.E alloy wheels produced by recognised brands, as most road going wheels must pass tests to achieve them.

All wheels are pre checked before offering for sale, and as such there may be minor signs of them being out of their box and on testing machines.

All wheels are supplied finished to a good standard, but please note there may sometimes be very minor imperfections in the finish or build of a wheel - as our wheels are individually handled throughout the process of manufacturing.

Aftermarket or O.E.M?

O.E.M (Original Equipment of the vehicle Manufacturer) parts are ideal for a like for like replacement job. They are made to be a direct fitment to your vehicle (providing you are using the right part number) with no guess work or adjustment required - bolt on and go. They are made to fit one vehicle (generally) and as such, production numbers are lower and costs can sometimes be higher which in turn affects availability and this can have a knock on effect on the asking (not production) price. O.E.M parts are generally sold exclusively through the main dealer network, which demands exclusivity and a premium.

Aftermarket wheels are generally produced loosely around the O.E.M items they replace, to be an upgrade (enhancement over original) so can be slightly different in spec to O.E which is beneficial as you can upgrade the look or driving characteristics of your car to suit your requirements, when setup correctly.

O.E wheels generally fit one model per part number and as they are branded, they are sold via a premium dealer network.

When installed and used correctly,  both aftermarket and O.E wheels are effective in serving the same purpose. When used incorrectly, they can both suffer damage and require repair or replacement.

Which is best then? Aftermarket or O.E?

The answer to this question is down to your own driving style, design requirements, and ultimately your budget.
